Turning natural materials into industrial performance
We redesign the properties of biomass into materials that fit the surface-treatment industry.
Vision
We turn the potential of nature into performance.
Turning the Potential of Nature into Performance
Where petroleum-based materials were once taken for granted, we make biomass-based materials that meet what industry demands.
Mission
- 01
We research and develop biomass-based materials technology.
- 02
We keep the convenience people already have while easing the load on the environment.
- 03
We build coexistence between industry and the planet through low-carbon, sustainable solutions.
- 04
We continue responsible innovation for the generations that follow.
Why couldn’t natural materials
make it into industry?
The properties never caught up
Used as they come, raw materials from nature could not match petroleum-based ones in water resistance, durability or cure speed. Good materials — but they did not clear the bar industry sets.
Simple substitution was not the answer
Swapping petroleum-based for natural alone either dropped performance or failed on cost. What had to change was not the feedstock but how the feedstock is handled.
So we chose to redesign the properties.
Oceanable modifies biomass-derived feedstock so that the strengths of different materials complement one another. It is the work of turning the potential of nature into performance industry can use.
